GEEK is part of GiveNOLA Day, a 24-hour event hosted by the Greater New Orleans Foundation to inspire people to give generously to nonprofits making our region stronger, creating a thriving community for all. In 2017, this event raised a little over $4 million.  The goal for the event on May 1, 2018 is to raise $5 million dollars for the 700 participating nonprofits in the New Orleans area, of which, this year, we are in that number.

Please donate through our GiveNOLA Day page: https://www.givenola.org/geeksforkids

GEEK and the kids at Schneckenburger Elementary

We at GEEK made our second distribution of learning devices this year. This morning, we visited the K-2nd grade special needs class at Schneckenburger Elementary School in Kenner, LA with several iPad devices. 2017 marks the first year our organization donated devices to multiple schools. Thanks goes out to Brian Held Jr from The Week in Geek Radio Show for appearing with us today. #WeAreGEEK #TWIG #LCBH

We at Geeks Empowering Extraordinary Kids are thrilled to announce our next distribution of learning devices. This morning, the 3rd-5th grade class at Martin Behrman Charter School received 5 Chromebooks and a color LaserJet printer for their small classroom of extraordinary kids to assist their learning.

This was made possible by donations, charity calendar sales, and a grant we received courtesy of the RED DRESS RUN 2016 New Orleans Hash House Harriers (NOH3-RDR) as well as the continued support of all of the groups (Bast Alpha GarrisonDagobah Base “Rebel Legion Louisiana and Mississippi”Krewe du Who, LLCUSS New OrleansUSS CorsairThe Week in Geek Radio ShowMechaCon Anime Convention, Geekonomicon, Wizard World, New Orleans, La,Adventurers League of G.E.A.R.S., Cos Couture) who help us continue to making our cause a reality.
